Welcome to CatPic’s Privacy Policy!
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the personal information we process in our business, including our website catpic.tech, the mobile application CatPic, and other services provided online or offline (collectively referred to as “Services”). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, and your continued use of our Services after we make changes will be deemed acceptance of those changes.
2. Information We Collect
The categories of personal information we collect depend on whether you are a user, applicant, or visitor, and the requirements of applicable law.
2.1 Account Creation: Currently, users do not need to register an account to use CatPic’s services and features.
2.2 Subscription Services: If you choose to purchase an application subscription, we do not receive related payment, credit card, or other information. We only receive confirmation from the App Store that you are a paid subscriber so that we can provide Pro services.
2.3 Using the Services: We only process specific photos you choose after you grant the application access to your camera or photo album. We do not collect any of your album photos or disclose the photos you upload for editing and manipulation to any services unless you explicitly agree to display your photos on our mobile and other services or third-party services. We use encrypted keys stored on your device to protect each photo you choose, meaning only the device that submitted the photo can view them, i.e., the user’s device. When you choose effects or features involving facial manipulation, we use special facial recognition technology to detect faces in the photos, find the required facial key points (the set of key points varies depending on the effect or feature), and apply the effect to your photos. No facial data is collected during this process (no network connection required).
2.4 Machine Learning: We use public datasets and legally purchased data to develop relevant machine learning features. We never use users’ pictures to train or improve features. Your content processing will be limited to running on your device.
2.5 Log Data: Our servers passively record your interactions with our applications, which we refer to as “log data.” For example, when you visit our website, log into our services, or browse content, we collect data about these interactions. We use log data to operate our services, maintain security, ensure reliable performance, and improve your experience.
2.6 Device Data: To provide a smooth and secure experience when you use our applications, we collect and integrate device data used to access our applications and services, as well as usage and activity data of your device. This information may include, but is not limited to, the type of mobile device you use, the unique device ID of your mobile device, the IP address of your mobile device, general geographic information, the mobile operating system, the type of mobile internet browser you use, and search terms.
2.7 Analytics Information: To ensure service quality and improve our applications, we use Google Firebase to collect, analyze, correct faults and errors, prevent illegal use or abuse of the application, and collect statistical data on user feature usage to help us measure application traffic and usage trends. This data does not track individual users but is based on overall statistics of all users.
2.8 Contact Information: When you interact with our services, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, username, password, email address, phone number, and date of birth, only to the extent necessary to provide services. We use this information to operate, maintain, and provide you with the application’s features, contact you, and resolve any issues you raise.
2.9 Website Information: We currently do not use cookies or other automatic data collection technologies, meaning we do not collect any information during your use of the website.
2.10 Data from Other Sources: If you connect your Facebook, Instagram, Apple ID, or other third-party accounts with our application, we use information from these accounts (such as your username or profile picture). You can revoke our access at any time by going to Facebook, Instagram, or other third-party accounts and choosing to stop sharing this information with us. With your explicit permission, we may also collect information about others from third-party platforms (such as social websites), for example, when you log into our application using other social website login information.
